Public Policy and Economic Recovery
Friday, March 12, 2010
Westin Hotel, Waltham
Networking 7:30 a.m. | Forum 8-9:30 a.m.
Join the AIM Executive Forum on March 12 as Senate President ThereseMurray looks at the intersection of public policy and economic growth as Massachusetts emerges from the global downturn. Her remarks will touch on the state budget, controlling the cost of health insurance and streamlining the delivery of economic development services to employers.
ThereseMurray became the first woman to be elected president of the Massachusetts Senate in March 2007. She has played a key role in steering the commonwealth through two years of fiscal crises brought on by the world financial downturn. Senate President Murray has advocated successfully for a range of transportation and other reforms designed to make government operate efficiently.
One of the topics Senate President Murray is expected to discuss at the AIM Executive Forum is an Economic Development Plan she filed recently to make state government run more like a business. AIM believes the approach is needed as the Massachusetts economy struggles to recover from the global recession.
