Job Description
My Client is a leading On-Site Utility energy provider has an immediate opening for an experienced Energy Engineer based in the either our Waltham, MA office or the Greater Metro New York area.
Our client will sell, finance, install, own, operate and maintain complete green energy cogeneration and cooling systems tailored to a customer’s specific site requirements. This unique energy company offers customers the option of On-Site Utility energy, complete installation or just equipment. The result is lower energy costs for customers and reduced carbon emissions from this sustainable green energy solution.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluate site energy usage, baselines and utility billings to determine viability of deploying energy systems in commercial buildings
- Perform site evaluations and audits:
- Verify building heat and hot water requirements, equipment type, and energy sizing
- Make recommendation for energy system selection, operation and performance
- Perform project economic and savings analyses for investment ROI
- Generate financial and economics reports to support evaluations
- Create life cycle cost analysis
- Assist with project estimating, equipment selection and equipment operations strategies
- Prepare and apply for energy grants and incentives
- Provide guidance to the sales team, assist in sales presentations and aid with customer proposals as the technical expert
Requirements
Engineering // Energy Engineer // HVAC // Energy Usage // Utility
Experience:
- Demonstrated background in energy engineering or HVAC required
- Field knowledge and experience with small cogeneration (<500 kw), boiler and chilled water systems
- Understanding of current techniques and technology related to facility mechanical (e.g., boiler & chillers), hydronic, electrical and computerized building automation systems
- Familiarity with energy projects for small commercial facilities (nursing homes, hotels and apartment buildings)
- Experienced with utility rate structures, energy site audits and reporting
- History working in a small company environment
Requirements
- Strong communication (written and oral), extensive computer and positive people skills
- Education: B.S. in mechanical or electrical engineering field
- 6+ years field experience
- Position requires both office and field site work; Significant travel required
- Hands-on, aggressive entrepreneurial style
- Provide “boundary-less" customer service
