BSBS Mini Cobra Update

BCBS has finally responded to the mini cobra section of the new law. This is still a very confusing section of the law.

Just make sure that letters are going out to your ex employees that were on your health plan as of 9-1-08.

The offer needs to be made to people currently on your cobra plan. If you have questions please ask.

 Posting of new information can be found on the IRS site, the DOL site, and on State sites.

 New information will be coming on a regular basis. Changes and adjustments will be made.

 Just make sure to post the employee fly-er, get out the letters, check with your insurance company on what

they are doing. Don't rely on an agent to do this for you. You are the one that has the responsibility to get this done.
